YouTube TV Lets You Cut the Cable

YouTube announced that they have begun releasing their new platform called YouTube TV.

As we see the fight for your time in full swing, video plays a huge part and sites are fighting to see who can get and hold your attention.

In this video I give some of the details as to who can get YouTube TV, How much YouTube TV will Cost and what you may see when you sign up.

Facebook and even Twitter are in this fight with YouTube and they are looking to battle the current movie channels like Hulu, Netflix and Amazon Prime.

Not sure 1 will ever pull ahead, but if YouTube can get and secure current tv shows, they may pull it off.

Who is looking to be the loser in this battle? Cable and satellite companies who charge high prices and give crappy service.

Cable and satellite companies may need to find a new way to generate customers and the best way I see that happening is to provide great internet service without the high bundle prices.

I am looking forward to seeing how this plays out over the next few years!

So, I guess when they had their YouTube Is Over Party on Twitter…YouTube didn’t take note…they just keep going!

YouTube is over party was trending

YouTube sure knows how to fire people up when they make changes. Every time there is a change, people notice, but many times it is just minor and people just move on. But this time YouTube hit some of the loudest of the bunch!

Advertisers slung their weight around, YouTube jumped to fast, people were/are losing video views and Twitter got to hear all about it with the #YouTubeIsOverParty trending.

As you can see, YouTube has a knee jerk reaction that caused another knee jerk reaction and I am sure there are more to come!

Instagram Lets You Save Your Live Videos

Instagram Live was a great idea as a way to get Instagram a name in the video realm, but they had 1 thing lacking, the video disappeared after the live show was over.

By having the video completely disappear after you stopped streaming did give a sense of urgency to your followers, but was not optimal for creators.
Most creators wanted to be able to repurpose the video, but couldn’t…until this update.

Now, if you plan on repurposing your Instagram Live videos, I have some tips in this video to help you end up with a video that is valuable. You will want to use these live streaming tips on any platform, not just Instagram.

Seriously, stop making people feel left out. Just because people feel left out by missing the live recording, does NOT mean they will then show up every time you have a live show. Most likely they just won’t bother watching your other recordings.

If people could be available every time you were on live…we wouldn’t have moved to the on demand webinars.

Facebook is going to put ads on live streaming

Facebook live has taken off and many people are using it to get their message out. It has mostly grown because it is easy to use and it has the best reach for business pages, now Facebook will use these videos to make some money.

In this video I talk about who will benefit from having the ads and why I think putting ads on a live stream could be scary as hell. You won’t see me advertising on any live stream unless I personally know the creator!

What will you hear in this video –

Where will the video add be placed?
How long does your Facebook Live need to be to have ads?
How long are the freakin ads going to be?
Can the live streamer make money when an ad is on their video?
Why I think advertisers are crazy to put an advertisement on a live stream!
How will advertisers pick which live stream their ad appears on?

3:00 What other videos will be getting Facebook ads?
Oh boy, do I see another big problem here!
Hint – I do NOT like freebooters! I am pretty tight on copyright!

4:32 Instagram is also looking at adding ads in the story lines!
How much can you make when Instagram puts ads in the stories? LOL!

By the way, this video was originally a Facebook live and I know any video there is somewhat useless after the fact, so it is now a searchable video!

LinkedIn Adds Storylines

LinkedIn is a great site to connect with people if you can find them and have a good way to interact with them, without pushing sales. There are the 2 biggest issues with people using the site. Ok, it is just a PITA to get around, but they are trying to make it better.

In this video I talk about how LinkedIn has added Storylines to try and keep you on site and involved. I haven’t seen a lot of change as of yet, but I am sure they will keep tweaking until they do better.

Are you finding yourself spending more time on LinkedIn?
